Marie Curie Fellowships

Applications with CES as host institution | Deadline: August 15, 2015

The Centre for Social Studies (CES) of the University of Coimbra, Associate Laboratory, informs that a call for Marie Curie Individual Fellowships opened on March 12, 2015.

Experienced researchers with a PhD, or with at least 4 years of full-time research experience, are eligible to apply.

For further information, interested researchers should consult the call documents available in the Participants Portal.

Within this call, CES is accepting proposals of candidates applying to European Fellowships and to Global Fellowships with CES as host institution.

The deadline for submitting applications is September 10, 2015, at 17h00 (Brussels time).


CES will assess proposals sent by August 15, 2015 of candidates who wish to apply for Marie Curie Individual Fellowships with CES as host institution.

For application purposes, with CES as host institution, interested researchers must consider the following regulations:

The application must be sent to mariecurie2015@ces.uc.pt, with the following elements:
a) candidate’s identification and letter of interest;
b) updated CV and copy of academic qualifications certificates;
c) proposal for the research project, in conformity with the Marie Curie Fellowships application forms (Annex 5, Guide for Participants).

In case a previous contact with a potential supervisor from CES has been established, the presented project proposal must be accompanied by the researcher’s opinion.

All application documents must be in English.

Eligibility Conditions (pages 9-12 and 21 of Guide for Applicants)

- European Fellowships: Standard Fellowships, Career Restart Panel, Reintegration Panel

Standard European Fellowships fund projects of 12-24 months and are open to researchers currently within or outside Europe and from any nationality. In order to apply for a Fellowship at CES, candidates must comply with the mobility rule, i.e. they cannot have lived in Portugal for more than 12 months in the last 3 years by the deadline date.

Career Restart Panel are meant to support individual researchers who wish to resume research in Europe after a career break (e.g. after parental leave, working outside research etc.). The researcher may be of any nationality and must not have been active in research for at least 12 months immediately prior to the deadline for submission of proposals (i.e. at least during the period 11 September 2014 to 10 September 2015). In order to apply for a Fellowship at CES, candidates cannot have lived in Portugal for more than 36 months in the last 5 years by the deadline date.

Reintegration Panel is dedicated to researchers who wish to return and reintegrate in a longer term research position in Europe. The candidate must move or have moved (transnational mobility) from a Third Country. In order to apply for a Fellowship at CES, candidates cannot have lived in Portugal for more than 36 months in the last 5 years by the deadline date. Nationality criteria: The candidate must be a national or long-term resident of a Member State or Associated Country.

- Global Fellowships
Global Fellowships fund projects of 12-24 months in a third country and a mandatory 12 month return period to a European host. The candidate cannot have lived in the third country for over 12 months in the past 3 years, whereas the return phase is not subject to mobility criteria. Nationality criteria: Only national citizens of Member States or Associated Countries, or long-term residents, can apply for a Global Fellowship.
