Abstract

The present project aims to foster bilateral cooperation between the Post-Graduate Programme in Public Policies from the Federal University of Paraná (PPPP‐UFPR) and the Doctoral Programme ‘Governance, Knowledge and Innovation’ from the University of Coimbra (PDGCI-UC), through the development of joint research activities, exchange of lecturers and students and joint research output with the objective of developing the quality, relevance and international visibility of the research results and human resources training in both programmes. The research activities are centred on the comparative analysis of the processes of governance of technologies in Brazil and in Portugal, of the participation of diverse social actors, and of the different dynamics in relation to dominant (mature) and emerging technologies. It is expected that the activities will lead to joint research seminars as well as to the publication of a collective book and co‐authored research articles.
