Fábio Sampaio


Biography

Fábio Sampaio has a degree in Sociology with a minor in management. During his degree he was recognized with the merit award - 'Best Student to Complete the Degree in Sociology awarded by the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra in 2013/2014'. During his academic career, he was an active participant in the associative life, having been General Coordinator of the Department of Pedagogy and Professional Opportunities of the Sociology Students Association Group of the Academic Association of Coimbra, he was also, non-effective Coordinator of the AAC's Department of Culture and Representative of Sociology Students in the Pedagogical Council of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra. At the same educational institution (FEUC), he attended and concluded with merit the Master in Management, with the thesis - A Vision of Entrepreneurs by Need: Case of PAECPE. He is currently a PhD student in Sociology at FEUC and a Junior Researcher at the Center for Social Studies at the University of Coimbra. His research career started in 2013 as a trainee to initiate scientific research in the TRAUMA project - Victims, trauma and institutional processes: in addition to the victim's ethics. Then, he worked as a researcher and pivot the project: Atlantic-Social-Lab - Atlantic Cooperation for the promotion of social innovation. He is currently the Research and Project Manager of the URBiNAT Project - Healthy corridors as drivers of social housing neighborhoods for the cocreation of social, environmental and marketable NBS. Fábio's research interests are centred on Economic Sociology, Social Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Social Entrepreneurship, Academic Entrepreneurship, Social Studies of S&T, Knowledge Transfer, Regional Development, among others.
