Biographic Note

Benjamín Tejerina. Full Professor in Sociology. Professor at the Basque Country University. Visiting researcher at Cambridge  University (UK), San Diego University (USA) and at the European University Institute (Florence). Author of such books as Nacionalismo y lengua: Los procesos de cambio lingüístico en el País Vasco (1992), Sociedad civil, protesta y movimientos sociales en el País Vasco (1995), Movimientos sociales: Transformaciones políticas y cambio cultural (1998), Institucionalización política y transformaciones en el mundo nacionalista (1999), El mercado de trabajo en la Comunidad Autónoma Vasca (2001), La inserción laboral de los jóvenes en Bizkaia (2002).His main issues of interest, on which he has published various articles, are sociology of language, collective identity, social movements and theory of conflict; and those he is presently working on pertain to Society of knowledge and identity construction; global resistance movement; theory of action; and identity, culture and politics amid young Basques.
