Forum 'Ciência Viva' 22nd and 23rd November 2008 Lisbon (FIL) In 22nd and 23rd November 2008, a Forum for Science took place in Lisbon (at FIL). In this Forum, students, teachers, members of scientific associations and researchers displayed their scientific work, organizing several activities, debates and workshops in diverse areas (such as physics, life sciences, engineering, social sciences). The Centre for Social Studies took part in this year’s edition, presenting the work produced within its cooperation with the National Agency ‘Ciência Viva’, and organizing a Poetry Workshop for children and youngsters. |

Science 2007 April 14th 2007
Within the Science Meeting in Portugal – Science 2007, the Portuguese research centres and laboratories developed, at the Pavilhão do Conhecimento in Lisbon, a special programme for the promotion of scientific activities. CES, through the Observatory for Consumer Debt, initiated the following activities: the "nugget game", the "board game" and "the ant and the grasshopper pamphlet". Incurring upon three thematic modules (consumption and household budget management; economy savings and investment; credit and debt) these activities were developed following a study on Unemployment and Family Indebtedness in Portugal(2003-2005), and that showed the necessity of investing in the financial education of children and youngsters. These activities were carried out by Teresa Ferreira and Fernanda Jesus and coordinated by Catarina Frade and Marta Araújo.
