Laura Centemeri


Biography

Laura Centemeri has got a degree from the "L.Bocconi" University of Milano in Economic and Social Disciplines and a PhD from the University of Brescia in Economic Sociology. Her thesis, discussed in 2005, analyses through a socio-historical perspective the social responses to the Seveso disaster (Italy, July 1976). In 2006 she was granted a Post-doc fellowship from the Municipality of Paris (Bourse Internationale de la Ville de Paris) for a research project on controversies related to different uses of natural spaces in urban areas , to be carried out at the laboratory GSPM (EHESS-CNRS, Paris) where she has been since then "chercheuse associée". From November 2006 to April 2008 she was Post-doc fellow at the Department of Social and Political Studies of the University of Milano for the project "Economic action and social norms: from externalities to corporate social responsibility". From May 2008 to September 2011 she was researcher at the Centro de Estudos Sociais (CES,Associated Laboratory) of the University of Coimbra, where she worked in the Observatory of Risk (OSIRIS). From October 2011 she is researcher (chargée de recherche) at the CNRS (France). Her main research interests are: environmental damage and its reparation, social movements for ecological transition.
