  • Violent conflict factors in the contemporary international system, particularly the proliferation of fragile States and the growing power asymmetry in international relations;
  • Policies, strategies and development projects, humanitarian aid and dynamics of economic and social struturing and disruption locally and globally as well as resistances in face of the global projection of the liberal peace project;
  • Peace missions in its myriad of formats and contexts, critical analysis of discourses /actions as its interfaces with peacebuilding;
  • Post-war reconstruction, particularly the myrad of actors involved and post-war capacity building mechanisms;
  • Conflict prevention, including not only operational forms of preventive diplomacy but also structural prevention strategies namely development aid;
  • The roles of women in peacebuilding, particularly the diverse discourses and practices protagonised by women in the attempt to transform conflicts non-violently and reconceptualise the notions of power and authority.
