About

It is common to find associations between various semantics that revolve around the concept of Solidarity Economy, such as economy of sharing, ecosocialism, economy of good living, circular economy, creative economy, social economy, economy of Francis and Clare, feminist economy, solidarity cooperativism, socio-economy, among others. Despite the plurality of elements that bring them together, others distance them, and in many cases it is necessary to explain their differences. This seminar aims to reflect on the mosaic of concepts and social practices in which the solidarity economy is situated, be it in the Portuguese case or in Brazil, where there is an increasing dispute over concepts in the social field. The dialogue between two sociologists from each of these countries will corroborate to make visible the rationality present in the various most common designations and to have a broad vision of the diversity of existing representations on the solidarity economy phenomenon.

The RIU-PR Network invites you to another International Live in partnership with the Centre of Social Studies - CES from the University of Coimbra, with special guests, to debate the theme: Dialogues on Other Economies: possibilities for social transformation.

The seminar can be followed live HERE
