Overview

The Sustainable Sustainability And Wise Use Of Geological Resources (SUGERE Erasmus+) project is part of the funding lines of the European Union's Erasmus+ program, an initiative that brought together a consortium made up of 9 Higher Education Institutions from different countries, namely High Institute of Science and Technology of Mozambique (ISCTEM/Mozambique), Eduardo Mondlane University (UEM/Mozambique); Agostinho Neto University, Higher Polytechnic Institute of Tundavala (UAN/Angola), University of Cape Verde, University of Santiago (UCV/Cape Verde); University of Salamanca (US/Spain); University of Turin (UT/Italy) and University of Coimbra (UC/Portugal) with the aim of strengthening institutional capacity in the area of Geology and Mining in terms of laboratory equipment and materials, curriculum development and short-term training for the teaching staff.

The SUGERE Erasmus+ project defined 11 priority activities, referred to as Work Packages, with emphasis on the activity on the visibility and dissemination of the project to be developed with greater emphasis on the signatory countries of the consortium, but also with the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP). It is in this context that the Maputo Conference is framed, which, among other objectives, aims to be a space for the dissemination of ongoing activities, the exchange of technical-scientific experiences between the various stakeholders and the promotion and raising of funding for other similar initiatives that may add value to the project SUGERE Erasmus+.

It is in this context of dissemination and the need to share knowledge in this area that the GeoMinas-SO conference arises, which will take place in Maputo, Mozambique.

Objectives

The goals of GeoMinas SO are:

• Disseminate scientific works in the geological, mining, hydrocarbon, and bioscience education.
• Promote scientific exchange in the areas of geology and mines among geoscientists.
• Promoting geosciences in/and for society.
• Create opportunities for establishing contacts, partnerships and interaction between geoscientists, society, and other stakeholders.
• Publicize the SUGERE Project.

Language

The official language of GeoMinas-SO will be Portuguese and English.

Fees

• Student: Free
• Mozambican Lecturer/Researcher: 500MT
• Lecturer/Researcher SUGERE Universities: 100 Euros / 7.000MT
• Others: 150 Euros / 10.500MT

Registration entitles you to the abstract book and coffee break on both days of the conference.
