Perfecto Andrés Ibáñez is a Magistrate of the Second Room (Penal) of the Spanish Supreme Court.
He was member of the Consejo General del Poder Judicial.
He is member of the Tribunal Permanente de los Pueblos (Fondazione Internazionale Lelio Basso, Rome).
He is member of Jueces Para la Democracia, and is Director of the magazine Jueces para la Democracia.
Información y debate. He takes part in the scientific committee of the magazine Questione giustizia (Italy).
He took part in several international activities related to human rights, judges¹ formation, jurisdictional and similar matters, in Europe and in Latin America.
He prepared the Spanish edition of Política y Justicia en el Estado capitalista (Fontanella, Barcelona, 1978) and of Democracia autoritaria y capitalismo maduro, of Luigi Ferrajoli and Danilo Zolo (El viejo topo, Barcelona, 1979).
He is the author together with Claudio Movilla of El poder judicial (Tecnos, Madrid, 1986), and of Justicia/conflicto (Tecnos, Madrid, 1988).
He prepared the edition of: Corrupción y estado de derecho. El papel de la jurisdicción (Trotta, Madrid, 1996); Detención y prisión provisional (CGPJ, Madrid, 1997); and La experiencia jurisdiccional, del Estado legislativo al Estado constitucional de derecho, (CGPJ, Madrid, 1999).
He took part in several collective works and published several articles on legal organization issues, procedural securities, proof valuation, statement by judge, etc., in Spanish and foreign magazines and translated several works of Italian jurists, in particular of Luigi Ferrajoli.
He contributes to the daily newspaper El país.
