He holds a Bachelor's degree in philosophy from the Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (1995) and master's degree in political science from the Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (2000). He is currently Professor at the College of Guararapes, effective Maurício de Nassau College and is a founding partner of the Institute Maria da Penha. Has experience in the field of political science, working mainly on the following themes: citizenship and human rights, democracy and violence, domestic violence against woman, tourism. social inclusion and tourism and social exclusion. The profª Regina Célia has a significant experience in the area of Coordination of extension courses. in 2007, coordinated the course of Legal Popular Promoters in 10 municipalities in the State of Pernambuco (Recife, Olinda, Abreu e Lima, São Paulo, Igarassu, Itapissuma, Itamaracá, Cabo de Santo Agostinho, Camaragibe and Moreno) about 278 women were certified; the THEMIS legal advice (creator of Legal Popular-promoting Project) was one of the Organizing Committee. In 2009, the Prof. Regina Célia, coordinated the course of citizenship rights Defenders in 4 municipalities of the State of Pernambuco in Brazil, ensuring women and 100; 2011/2012. Coordinates the course of Defenders and Defenders of rights to citizenship for college students in College Guararapes. The course is held under support of the American Embassy and the general direction of the Maria da Penha. Currently studying at the doctorate in law, justice and citizenship for the 21st century at the University of Coimbra in Portugal.
