Biography

Feminist historian and Gender Studies researcher. Doctorate in History from the Universidade Federal Fluminense (Brazil, 2014), with study abroad at the Universitat Rovira i Virigili (Espanha). Master's in History from the Universidade Federal da Bahia (Brazil, 2006) and undergraduate degree in History from the Universidade do Estado da Bahia (Brazil, 1995). Currently adjunct professor of history at the Universidade do Estado da Bahia providing undergraduate coursework in teaching of history and Gender Studies and post-graduate coursework in Regional and Local History. Coordinates Extension Project on Gender, race, sexuality and education: space for diversity and conducts research on gender, sexualities, feminisms, women and biography. Author of the books "É um romance minha vida" - Dona Farailda, uma casamenteira no Sertão baiano, and Evas e Marias em Serrolândia: práticas e representações acerca das mulheres em uma cidade do interior da Bahia (1960-1990), as well as various papers. Member of the Gender Studies Working Group of ANPUH/Brazil and the research groups PROJETAH and Redes Regionais e Locais na História. Currently working on an investigation titled "Inventions of feminisms in the subtle practices of disobedience among women from the Brazilian semi-arid regions" as part of a post-doctorate at the Centre for Social Studies (Universidade de Coimbra, Portugal).
