The Centre for Studies on Security and Citizenship, based at the Cândido Mendes University, conducts research, consultant activities and training sessions in the areas of public security, justice, prison system and violence prevention. Its main objective is to contribute to the modernisation and democratisation of the Brazilian criminal justice system.

Crescer e Viver is a non profit organisation which articulates circean arts and pedagogical concepts, aiming to establish metodologies of citizenship education, integral development and socio-productive inclusion of children, teenagers and youth from disenfranchised backgrounds. It seeks to impact on the training of a new generation of creative and critical human beings, capable and willing to transform their lives and the lives of the communities and contexts in which there are embedded.        

 

IANSA



The IANSA Women’s Network supports organisations working on women and violence prevention to combat gun violence in their communities and support the global campaign to reduce the proliferation and misuse of small arms. Its aims to connect organisations, provide information and resources, raise public awareness, and build a united and dynamic movement of women resisting gun violence around the world. To date, the Women’s Network has over 250 members from every region in the world.

The Observatório Permanente sobre a Produção, Comércio e Proliferação das armas ligeiras, created by the Comissão Nacional Justiça e Paz, began its activities in 2004. OPPCPAL’s goals include gather, systematise and disseminate relevant information regarding the production, trade and proliferation of small arms and light weapons  in Portugal.
