Paulo Pego was born in Barcelos (Portugal) in 1967. He has  a Ph.D in Law and is a Professor at the Law Faculty of the University of Coimbra as well as a Jurist-Linguist at the European Union Council in Brussels, where he lives. He has published a number of books and articles on legal matters. He is a member of Oficina de Poesia, of the European Union Literary Circle and of Grenier Jane Tony (Brussels). A member of the Editorial Board of two literary magazines, Sibila and Oficina de Poesia – revista da palavra e da imagem, his poems have been published in Portugal, Brazil and Belgium. À Senoite is the title of a poetry book published by Paulo Pego in 2009.
