Abstract

The “Story of a death foretold: the coup against Allende, 11 September 1973”, which is the title of Guardiola-Rivera forthcoming book, is used in order to propose that it is time to recover the memory of the 1960s-1970s –not in terms of melancholia but in terms of political creativity and activism- as a time of militancy and production of transformative knowledge from the south, as such memory is particularly relevant for the times of crisis and inability to act.
