Abstract

There are several studies that, in the past years, shows us the media influence in the social reality, the transformation of subjects in political problems and the audience formation In this context, we think it is important to analyse how the domestic violence is approached by the media. In this seminar, we intend to, firstly, understand how this issue is built in public opinion. Secondly, and directly related to the previous assumption, we intend to discuss the level of knowledge conveyed by the press about the issue of domestic violence, as well as identify its potential prejudices and stereotypes. Finally, we intend to reflect on some of these themes based on concrete examples and personal experiences.
