Abstract

The objective of this seminar is to provide a comparative analysis of the crime novel written from the African Atlantic coast as well as showing the main contributions for-like. In recent decades we have witnessed an increase in crime romance in several African countries, texts that tend to deal with violence, social tensions and political conflicts that have marked what is commonly referred to as post-colonial State. Focusing on writers from Angola, Morocco and the Democratic Republic of Congo and adopting a multidisciplinary approach, this seminar will draw attention to the committed aspect of this literary production and consequently the importance of this type of fiction as a privileged locus to address social, economic and political concerns. The transnational nature of this literary genre requires the researcher to read the literary text beyond the boundaries of a particular state; in this context new concepts and metaphors should be used to understand the meaning of the narratives that circulate along the African Atlantic.
