Synopsis:
The result of a collaborative research project with immigrants in the city of Coimbra, this book offers a theoretical framework and valuable multidisciplinary empirical analysis to in-depth understanding of migratory phenomena in general and in particular studied in the field. The various contributions that make up the book examine and demonstrate the relevance of biographical studies in social analysis of migration issues. In turn, this acknowledged biographical perspective allows us to disseminate and recognize the concrete experiences of the migrants, recounted in their  own voices, emphasizing the experiential knowledge and intercultural dialogue. Being  the case of a participatory research with the collaboration of men and women in round tables organised by the project, this is also a joint work in wich their faces, names and silence, with analytical density, embody, substantiate, and and offer collective relevance.
