The result of a collaborative research project with immigrants in the city of Coimbra, this work offers a theoretical framework and valuable multidisciplinary empirical analysis to the in-depth understanding of migratory phenomena in general and in particular studied in field. The various contributions that make up the book examine and demonstrate the relevance of biographical studies in the social analysis of migration issues. In turn, the here valorised biographical perspective allows us to know and recognise the concrete experiences of migrants told in their own voices, emphasizing experiential knowledge and intercultural dialogue. As a participatory research attained with the collaboration of men and women in story groups organised by the project, this is also a joint work that their faces, names and silences with analytical thickness embody, substantiate, and collectively bear relevant.
