The Centre for Social Studies (CES) informs that the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) has opened the Calls for PhD Studentships and Post-Doctoral Fellowships from July 31 to September 30, 2014. In order to apply with the Centre for Social Studies as scientific host institution, applicants should consider the following regulations:

1. Applications to Post-Doctoral Fellowships:

The Centre for Social Studies will consider applications to Post-Doctoral studies, under the regulation in force, until September 15, 2014. All applications should be sent to posdoutoramentos@ces.uc.pt , including the applicant's full name, updated CV, work project and copy of academic qualification certificates. If the applicant has made a prior contact with a potential supervisor, the application should include the opinion issued on the presented work plan.

2. Applications to PhD Studentships

The Centre for Social Studies will consider applications as host institution for FCT PhD Studentships until September 15, 2014.

a) The application of students already enrolled in CES Doctoral Programmes should be sent to doutoramentos@ces.uc.pt including the applicant's full name, updated CV, project and opinion issued by the supervisor.

b) Those interested, while applying to CES Doctoral Programs 2014/2015, should notify the Coordination of the corresponding programmes on the intention to apply for a FCT PhD Studentship, requesting the assessment of their application to be made within the time determined by the call. Upon acceptance into the programme, the application, including the applicant's full name, updated CV, project and opinion issued by the Coordination on the work plan, should be sent by the applicant to doutoramentos@ces.uc.pt

c) CES will also consider the scientific hosting of PhD students from other doctoral programmes where the work plan supervisor is a Researcher at the Centre for Social Studies. Interested applicants must send their application, including full name, updated CV, project and the opinion issued by the supervisor to doutoramentos@ces.uc.pt
