Soledad Castillero Quesada


Biography

Soledad Castillero is a Social Anthropologist from the University of Granada, Spain. She has a PhD in Migration Studies from the Institute of Migration Studies of the same University and a master's degree in Development Cooperation, Public Management and NGOs, as well as a master's degree in Compulsory Secondary Education and Bachelor's Degree Teaching, Vocational Training and Language Teaching with a specialty in Geography and History . Her lines of research revolve around the analysis of food production and its ecosocial impacts, gender studies and migration studies. She is currently a researcher at the Center for Social Studies at the University of Coimbra, where she participates in the European project SWIFT: "Supporting Women-led Innovations in Farming and rural Territories". In recent years, he has investigated the impacts of intensive agriculture on the socio-labor rights of male and female workers, specifically in the red fruit production sector. This work earned him the Memorial Blas Infante research award in 2021, organized by the Fundación Blas Infante de Sevilla. Its lines of investigation revolve around agricultural production, gender studies and migratory processes.
