3rd International Congress of the Libraries, Politics, Reading Research Network

The digital, the traditional, the new normal?

September 23 and 24, 2021

Online event

About

With this activity, in scientific interdisciplinarity, the Libraries, Politics, Reading Research Network hopes to motivate critical reflection and the exchange of ideas and experiences about how the models of digital and print are realized and lived (publishing, reading) in different social and political contexts, taking into account the realities of social inequality aggravated by the globalized pandemic. The professional and student communities of the social and human sciences, of information and documentation, and the users of library and archive services will find this framework of analysis of interest.

The papers (Spanish, Italian, English, Portuguese) are distributed among the following panels:

  • Prescribing, Mediating and Framing Reading: editor's functions;
  • Libraries, social inequalities and reading services for underprivileged citizens;
  • Information Literacy: gender, digital, social inequalities;
  • Public Policies and Libraries in Latin America;
  • Biblioteche, lettura, Intelligenza Artificiale: servizi digitali verso il futuro.

Two moments of Readings in Diversity will be devoted to the enjoyment of literature readings from Cape Verde, Portugal, Mozambique and from Italy, Spain, Brazil - by CES volunteers, coordinated by Maria José Paiva Fernandes Carvalho and Paula Sequeiros.
