This talk examines the food forests in the Kichwa community of Mulchi Yaku (Napo) as practices of sowing amidst the ruins of Amazonian extractivism. From the perspective of an irregular and fragmentary Anthropocene, it argues that these agroforestry assemblages constitute community responses that regenerate soils, knowledges and multispecies relationships. In the face of mining, industrial fish farming and urban expansion, food forests emerge as spaces for living labour, territorial autonomy, and the creation of living environments.
