Nota biográfica

Janis van der Westhuizen is a Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa and rsearcher at the BRICS Policy Centre. He is a master in Political Science from the University of Stellenbosch and also Ph.D. in Political Science from Dalhousie University, Canada. He has been a visiting fellow in several institions, including the (Libera Università Internazionale degli Studi Sociali "Guido Carli"), in Rome, and the Institute of Social and Political Studies of the State University of Rio de Janeiro, among many others. He has been awarded several reserach projects and has published extensively on topics such as South African foreign policy; the political economy of globalisation or Comparing Brazil and South Africa as rising powers.
