Foreign policy identity crises and the return of geopolitics in Europe

Abstract

The guest lecture addresses the main challenges arising from the return of geopolitics in the 1990s to Europe, with regard to foreign policy and identity issues, covering a topic of utmost relevance in current times.


Bio

Stefano Guzzini is a professor at Uppsala University (Sweden) and a Senior Researcher at the Dannish institute for International Studies. Principle areas of research has been in international theory, security studies (ontological security), approaches to foreign policy analysis (mainly applied to France, Germany and Italy), as well as with the conceptual analysis and theories of power. More recently, he has also worked on interpretivist methodologies (process tracing and notions of non-efficient causality) and critical geopolitics as applied to Europe.
