Bio notes

Ana Cordeiro dos Santos, PhD in Philosophy and Economics from the Erasmus University of Rotterdam, The Netherlands, is researcher at the Centre for Social Studies (CES), where she is member of the Science, Economy and Society Research Group (NECES). Her research interests include the topics of financialization, household indebtedness and housing. She has also worked on the epistemic, social and political implications of economics, namely the role of its recent developments in the construction of markets and other social institutions.

Ioannis Kompsopoulos holds a degree in political sciences. He is currently working on his PhD thesis about “Convergence through uniform requirements? - A comparative analysis of the objectives and effects of the Troika policy on the three countries Greece, Ireland and Portugal” (University of Tübingen).

Manos Matsaganis is Associate Professor of Public Finance at Politecnico di Milano. He studied economics at the Athens University of Economics and Business (1986), health economics at the University of York (MSc 1988) and health econometrics at the University of Bristol (PhD 1992). He has worked at the London School of Economics (1990-1993), the Greek Prime Minister’s Office (1997-2001), the University of Crete (1996-1999 & 2001-2004), and the Athens University of Economics and Business (2004-2016), where he founded and directed the Policy Analysis Research Unit.

Inês Fronteira is Assistant Professor of Public Health and Epidemiology at the Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine of the New University of Lisbon (IHMT/UNL), since 2011. She has a degree in Nursing, a Master in Public Health and a PhD in International Health from the IHMT/UNL. Inês’ main areas of interest are human resources policies in health, medical and nursing education, impact of work on the health of health professionals, migration of health professionals and observational epidemiology.

Mário Alves is a civil engineer and specialist in transport and mobility with a master's degree from Imperial College London. His research themes were Modelling and Analysis of Activity Chains, experiments in Declared Preference and survey methods for travel diaries. As a transport consultant he has coordinated municipal mobility plans and mobility projects and cooperated in several European projects. Mário is Secretary-General of the International federation of Pedestrians.

Carlos Laia is a mechanical engineer and expert in energy efficiency and renewable energy sources. Currently, he is Managing Director of CEEETA-ECO, a Portuguese SME focused on consultancy in energy matters. He has been involved in numerous national and European projects. Previously, he was technical director of Vivapower, director of the Almada Local Energy Agency (AGENEAL) and deputy director of the National Energy Agency (former CER, now ADENE).

Gonçalo Antunes is a geographer, PhD in Geography and Territorial Planning, specialized in Territorial Development, from NOVA School of Social Sciences and Humanities (NOVA FCSH) of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa. Currently, he is researcher at Interdisciplinary Centre of Social Sciences (CICS.NOVA) and holds a position of Invited Assistant Professor at NOVA FCSH. His main scientific interests include Urban Studies, with an emphasis on Housing Policies, Urban Geography, Inequality and Geographic Information Systems. He has collaborated in books and book chapters (author and co-author), organized scientific events, collaborated in scientific projects and published articles in scientific journals.
