Isabel Simões, Inês Nascimento Rodrigues, Júlia Garraio and Vasco Martins talk with Rui Bebiano and Pierre Marie about the 25th of April and the Portuguese democratic transition.

Second programme of a partnership between Radio Universidade de Coimbra and the Centre for Social Studies (CES), within the scope of the research developed by NHUMEP | Humanities, Migrations and Peace Studies Research Group. This collaboration is conducted through the  programme "Há Vida(s) Nesta Cidade!", directed by Isabel Simões, and will take place on the last Saturday of each month, starting at 2pm.

Bio notes

Rui Bebiano is an historian, professor at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Coimbra, researcher at the Centre for Social Studies and Director of the 25th of April Documentation Centre.  His current research and teaching areas are political and cultural history since the 1950's, particularly in the history of intellectuals and of ideas, representations of Utopia, and silencing and social exclusions in history and memory. He collaborates regulary with several journals with op-eds and book reviews. 

Pierre Marie is a history researcher at the Centre for Social Studies under the project  "25AprilPTLab" in partnership with the 25th of April Documentation Centre of the University of Coimbra. His work focuses aon the History and Memory of the Portuguese Revolutionary Process (1974-1976), in particular regarding the case of Coimbra.
