Vera Vale (ESE-IPC, Portugal). PHD in Education Sciences, specilaty in Education Psychology, MA and BA in Education Sciences, at the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences of the University of Coimbra. BA in Childhood Education at the General School for Pre-School School Teachers of Guarda. Joint professor at the Higher School for Education, Polythecnic Institute of Coimbra (ESEC-IPC). Lecturer in the MA programmes in Pre-School Education and Pre-School/1st Cycle and in Special Education and Motor and Cognitive Problems Specialty. Researcher at GRUPOEDE-CEIS20/UC.

Miguel Castro (ESE-IPP, Portugal). PhD in Geography. Professor at the Higher School for Education, Polythecnic Institute of Portalegre (ESSE-IPP). conducts research in Geography, Teaching Methods and Didactics. His current research project focuses on 'Didactics in Geography Teaching'. 

Maria Amélia Franco Santoro (UNISANTOS, Brazil). BA in Pedagogy and Post-Graduate Specialty in School Management at Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Campinas (PUC-UNICAMP). Specialty in Psychology and MA in Education by the  Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP). PhD in Education by the University of São Paulo (USP). Post-Doc in Pedagogy and Teaching Practices by the University of Paris VIII (UP-VIII) and Federal University ofSergipe (UFS). Researcher 2 CNPQ since 2007. Professor and Researcher of the Post-Graduate Programme in Education of the Catholic University fo Santos (UNISANTOS), havinf been coordinator  (2004-2009) and vice-coordinator (2010; 2012-2017).

Márcia Gorette Lima da Silva (UFRN, Brazil). BA in Chemistry and PhD in Education by UFRN, with a post-doc in Science Teaching at  Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona (Spain). Professor of the Chemistry Institute of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte with experience in Education and Chemistry focusing, mainly, on argumenting in science teaching and teacher training. 


Organising Committee

The Laboratory of Reflection and Action in Teacher Training (Portugal and Brazil) is a space for reflection and action developed through collaborative methodologies between students and teachers from schools and universities, which may assume different formats. It gathers a group of teachers, teacher training students, researchers and child educators from Portugal and Brazil. In this Laboratory we intend to research practices, promote critical reviews, formulate emancipatory strategies, occupy public and academic spaces and, through this exercise of critical collective action, invest in a review of our professional trajectories. We know it is a lot, but we think that collectively and through actions planned on the basis of assumed commitments, it is possible to move forward.

Rita Campos (CES-UC, Portugal).  Researcher in Non-Formal Education and Science Communication at the Centre for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra (CES-UC). Her main research interests focus on participation and citizen envolvement  in scince, particulary on issues of biodiversity and health, and environmental education and education for sustainable development. Has experience in development of educational actitivities and active learning, based  on research and student-centred, as well as different strategies and tools to support collaborative learning. 

Sueli Lima (UERJ-FFP, Brazil). Joint Professor at the Department of Education of the Faculty of Teacher Training of the State University of Rio de Janeiro, UERJ, focusing on the fileds of teaching, research and outreach. PhD in Education at the University of São Paulo and post-Doc at the Centre for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra (CES). Researches epistemologies and teacher training models coordinating the the Pedagogical Research-Action Group at FFFP/UERJ, working on participatory methodologies developed with graduate students and grammar school teachers. more information here and here .

Maria Jorge Ferro (FPCEUC, Portugal).  Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences at the University of Coimbra (UC), PhD in Psychology. She studies Critical Theory, explores the implication theory/practice in her research and teaching. She has taught Educational Psychology at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the UC in the initial training of teachers, collaborated on continuing education courses, was a consultant for a Teacher Training Centre in Coimbra. She has started to study issues related to the Implicit Conceptions of Teaching and Learning held by all those who work in the School(s). She believes that Education is the solution to all human problems. 

José Miguel Sacramento (ESEC-IPC, Portugal). Joint Professor at the School of Education of the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra (ESEC-IPC). Supervisor of Supervised Educational Practice. Master's Degree in Educational Sciences: Educational Psychology branch and Degree in Educational Sciences from the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Coimbra. Bachelor's Degree in Primary School Teachers (1º CEB), Primary School of Coimbra. Research interests: Basic Education; Pedagogical Supervision and Teacher Training; Parental Involvement in School.

Raquel Maricato (JISASUC, Portugal) is a pre-school teacher at the Kindergarten of the Social Action Services of the University of Coimbra (JISASUC). She has specialised training in Special Education, cognitive and motor skills and a Master's degree in Education Sciences in the specialisation area of Personal and Social Training. Her research has focused on Environmental Education and Sustainability. She has been collaborating in research projects in science with the Centre for Functional Ecology and the Centre for Neuroscience and Cell Biology of the University of Coimbra.

Fátima Velez de Castro (FLUC, Portugal). Degree in Geography (Specialisation in Teaching), MA in European Studies and PhD in Geography. She works as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Geography of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Coimbra (FLUC), where she is a member of the Scientific Committee. She is also Coordinator of the Master in the Teaching of Geography and Member of the Ethics Council of the FCDEF of the UC. She is a researcher at CEGOT (Integrated Member), RISCOS and NICIF, being her main research and work themes: Geography of Migrations; Social and Cultural Geography (Cinema); Social Risks; Teaching of Geography.

Magnólia Araújo (UFRN, Brazil). Bachelor in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte and PhD in Ecology and Natural Resources from the Federal University of São Carlos/SP. She developed post-doctoral studies in Science Education/Education for Sustainability at the University of Coimbra (2012-2013). She is a permanent professor at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) with experience in environmental microbiology and scientific dissemination with a focus on education for sustainability.

Denise Esteves (CES-UC, Portugal).Denise Esteves holds a bachelor degree in Anthropology from the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Coimbra. She also holds a master degree in sociology from the Faculty of Economics of the same university. Currently, Denise Esteves is member of the Observatory for Education Policies and Professional Development from the Centre of Social Studies. She is also a PhD student on Human Rights in Contemporary Societies. Her work mainly focuses on how schools, districts and national systems create capacity for and lead learning and improvement, with a particular emphasis on developing learning communities. At the school system level she is currently working on practical ways of transforming schools into learning organizations.

Ruth Ramiro (Coletivo Investigador FFP UERJ São Gonçalo, Brazil). Graduated in Pedagogy. Master in Education from Universidade Federal Fluminense Post-graduated in Informatics Applied to Education from UERJ Maracanã, INES (Letramento and Deafness in the Initial Series and EJA) and UFF- LANTE (Planning, Implementation and Management in EAD). Experience as a teacher in Basic Education in the Municipal Public Education Network of São Gonçalo - RJ, for 30 years. In Higher Education, EAD (Distance Education), UNIVERSO, CECIERJ and ESIE, and Presential Education, teaching at UERJ- FFP of São Gonçalo as substitute teacher (2008-2010) and in the Post-Graduation in Pedagogy UNIVERSO. Consultancies: Municipal Secretary of Education in São Gonçalo-RJ and Paulo Freire Institute SP.

Graciane Volotão (Coletivo Investigador FFP UERJ São Gonçalo, Brazil). Graduate in Pedagogy - Faculdades Integradas Maria Thereza; Postgraduate in School Supervision - UCAM; Postgraduate in Public Management UCDB. Undersecretary of Teaching and Pedagogical Support in the Municipal Secretariat of Education of the Municipality of São Gonçalo (2015/2016). General Coordinator of Projects and Programs in the Municipal Secretariat of Education and Culture in São João da Barra (2017). Experience in the area of Public Management and Education. Member of Anped and ABdC. Master's student in the Education course of the Postgraduate Programme in Education ProPed UERJ - Research Group in Evaluation Policies, Inequalities and Mathematics Education. Supervisor of Professor Maria Isabel Ramalho Ortigão.

Celeste Barbosa (UFTM, Brazil). Professor at the Federal University of the Triângulo Mineiro (UFTM) in Uberaba-MG (Brazil). Working in the Department of Social Service. Graduation (1998), master's degree (2002) and doctorate (2007) in Social Service at the Universidade Estadual Paulista "Júlio de Mesquita Filho" (UNESP/Franca-SP). She is part of the studies and research group ProLiSaBr - Promotion in Communication, Education and Literacy for Health in Brazil (UFTM) - and DeMuS - Research Group on Law and Social Change (UNESP). She works in research and extension, mainly with the following themes: foundations of social service, ethics and social service, professional training and work, work, education, teaching and higher education. Post-doctoral (2019/20) at the Centre for Social Studies (CES) of the University of Coimbra, Portugal, under the supervision of Doctor Dora Fonseca, for the research "The scientific work of higher education teachers and precarity".

Brian Macedo (III-UC, Portugal). Psychologist specialising in the coordination of operational groups, Master in Interdisciplinary Studies on the University by the Federal University of Bahia and doctoral candidate in Contemporary Studies by the Institute of Interdisciplinary Research of the University of Coimbra (III-UC).

Graziela Giacomazzo (UNESC, Brazil). Degree in Pedagogy and PhD in Education from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). Teacher at the University of the Extremo Sul Catarinense (UNESC) since 2000 in the Undergraduate Courses and in the Postgraduate Programme in Education (PPGE). Collaborating Professor of the Graduate Program in Information and Communication Technologies (PPGTIC) at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC). Leader of the Interdisciplinary Research Group in Education and Digital Culture CNPq/UNESC. Integrates the Bernunça N.O. Educommunication Observatory Research Group (UDESC).

Michele Barreto Nunes (E. E. M. Lúcio Thomé Feteira, Brazil). Professor at the Municipalized State School Lúcio Thomé Feteira, in the municipality of São Gonçalo (SG). Undergraduate in Pedagogy at the Salgado de Oliveira University (UNIVERSO), in São Gonçalo, Rio de Janeiro, and postgraduate in Education from the São Luis Education College. Member of the research group Coletivo Investigador of the Universidade Estadual do Rio de Janeiro - Faculdade de Formação de Professores (UERJ-FFP-SG).

Waleska Sousa (UFTM, Brazil). PhD in Education from the Federal University of Uberlândia - UFU, Pedagogical Adviser of the Institute of Exact, Natural and Educational Sciences - ICENE of the Federal University of the Triângulo Mineiro (UFTM) and Coordinator of the lato-sensu course in University Pedagogy of UFTM. She integrates GEPEDI - Group of Studies and Researches in Developmental Didactics and Teaching Professionalization. She studies and investigates teacher training in the perspective of the cultural-historical theory and didactics for development.

Lorena Rodrigues Areas (UERJ, Brazil). Student of Pedagogy at the Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro, at the Teacher Training College (UERJ/FFP) in São Gonçalo, Rio de Janeiro. Fellow of Internal Complementary Internship of the research entitled: Internship as a Teacher Training Field and member of the outreach group Coletivo Investigador.

Carla Marcelle Silva Gonçalves (UERJ, Brazil). Student in the Biology Degree Course at the Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro, Faculdade de Formação de Professores (UERJ/FFP) in São Gonçalo, Rio de Janeiro. Fellow of Internal Complementary Internship in the research entitled: Teacher training focused on school as a pedagogical strategy and member of the outreach group Coletivo Investigador.
