ECOSOC-CES Seminars

2021/2022

Overview

The Ecology and Society Workshop is a working group at CES (formed in 2011) that brings together PhD candidates and researchers with the double objective of deepening the analysis of the connections between the social and the ecological and opening spaces for collective constructions in the face of the ecological crisis. We seek a transdisciplinary discussion to analyse the planetary ecological crisis from perspectives of environmental and climate justice and from a critique of the inequalities inherent in the domination of modernity and its main pillars: capitalism, hetero-patriarchy, colonialism and racism.  This annual series of events is organised with sessions of three types:

1) discussion of working papers;
2) discussion of reference texts already published;
3) discussion of a theme.

The texts will be made available one week before each event. In the case of a paper not yet published, an extended abstract of the text will be made available. Those who wish to receive them should send an email to ecosoc@ces.uc.pt

The sessions are intended to be a space for dialogue and collective construction open to all interested parties.
