Route: A visit to different outdoor spaces of the University of Coimbra, and to the UC Herbarium

Knowledges to be approached: the construction and evolution of the UC, including aspects of its management and the construction and contributions of its scientific collections.

Key-words: botany and the study of vegetation; management, computerization and availability of botanical information; modern herbarium methods and techniques; biological collections and scientific data; biodiversity; heritage of the University of Coimbra; Modern Period; local history; municipal and University of Coimbra finances; local power and daily life of the city; production and circulation of knowledge; co-production of knowledges; active learning; context-based learning.

Target audience: kindergarten teachers and primary and secondary teachers of all groups, working or in initial training, and families.

Approximate duration: 2 hours.
