About

The Colloquium on Qualitative Research in Human Motricity (CPQMH) is an international and itinerant scientific event organised since 2003 by the Society for Qualitative Research in Human Motricity (SPQMH). After having already been held in Brazil, Chile and Mozambique, the 9th edition will take place in Portugal, in the city of Coimbra, between 27 and 29 November 2023, in a joint organisation of SPQMH, the Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies of the University of Coimbra (CEIS20-UC) and the Centre for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra (CES/UC), Portugal.

The CPQMH has as matrix the dialogue of themes relevant to the Science of Human Motricity, promoting the socialization of the results of studies, research and experience reports conducted by academics and professionals from various areas that have their productions based on the qualitative methodological approach.

In this ninth edition of CPQMH, we intend to reflect on the issues of motricity and sport, with the theme Body, (anti)racism and (post)colonialism as the base point. Thus, it is intended, from a critical perspective, to assume the complexity of the sportive gesture, and the motricity inherent to it, reflecting on the racialized body in a post-colonial context. The aim is also to cross these themes with the different epistemological frameworks of the human and social sciences.
