The Centre for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra (CES) is now a member of LUCI, a research cooperative in critical public health.

This International Cooperative University, was born at the Casa do Povo in Paraty (Brazil) in July 2019, and is coconstructing with the Ecole Doctorale Sciences Sociales of Université Paris 8 and CES, a international doctoral programme on the Epistemologies of the South. LUCI resorts both to critical theories and epistemologies of the South as to alterantive methodological aproaches towards emancipating social transformation.
