Isabela Lemos


Biography

Isabela Lemos is currently a PhD Student in Post-colonialisms and Global Citizenship from the Center for Social Studies at Coimbra University with a FCT Scholarship. Her research interests are: post-colonial studies of psychoanalysis, racism, urban segregation and necropolitics. She holds a Bachelor degree in Psychology from PUC/SP (2009), in Brazil, city where she developed projects that aimed the construction of innovative clinical strategies in psychosocial support for children and youth. As a founding member of Margens Clinicas (2012), which offers psychological support for victims and family members of police violence, she coordinated the collective research project "Cartografias da Memória" (2015), associated to the Human Rights Department of São Paulo. She was a clinical supervisor of multiprofessional public health and social assistence services in São Paulo, at the Center for Studies in Psychic Repair (2017), one of the scopes of "Clinicas do Testemunho" of the Amnesty Commission (Ministry of Justice), involving psychic repair to victims of the dictatorship in Brazil. She worked as a consultant of social projects in the cities of Florianópolis, Presidente Prudente, Santos, São José dos Campos and São Paulo.
