Rita Kacia Oliveira


Biography

Rita Kacia Oliveira is part of the Project Management Office of the Centre for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra. She holds a degree in Sociology from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra. CES staff member since 2008, was part of the Communication, Image and Events Office, in charge of events management, until 2013, when she became Executive Secretary for the ALICE project - Strange Mirrors, Unsuspected Lessons: Leading Europe to a new way of sharing the world experiences, coordinated by Boaventura de Sousa Santos and funded by the European Research Council. With extensive experience in producing scientific and cultural events, before joining CES she collaborated in the organisation of multiple exhibitions, cultural lectures and concerts. She was cultural mediator for the Coimbra-Aix-en-Provence Exhibition (Convento de São Francisco, 2007). She also took part in the organisation of the I Santa Clara Gallery Painting Prize. Collaborated as research assistant of the project "Territórios Europeus numa perspectiva comparada". At CES, she has also worked as a Portuguese-English translator and as a freelancer has translated a considerable number of articles and reports for national and international institutions and researchers. As member of the Alice News editorial board, she manages the information platform and its contents.
