Manuel Branco


Biography

Manuel Couret Branco is full professor in the Department of Economics at the School of Social Sciences at the University of Évora where he teaches Development Economics, History of Economic Thought, Political Economy of Human Rights and Economics of Social Policy. He graduated in Economics and Geography from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and has a PhD in Economics from the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales, also in Paris. He is an integrated member of CICP, Center for Research in Political Science and collaborator of CEFAGE, Center for Studies and Advanced Training in Management and Economics, at the University of Évora and CES, Center for Social Studies. Among his latest publications are the books Economics for Human Rights, Economia Política dos Direitos Humanos, and the articles, Teaching Political for Human Rights, Economics for the Right to Work, Economics for Substantive Democracy, Can Markets Secure Economic and Social Human Rights .
