António Carvalho


Biography

António Carvalho works as Research Fellow at the Centre for Social Studies. Until 2022 he was an invited Assistant Professor at the Sociology Department of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra and the Principal Investigator of TROPO: Anthropocenic Ontologies in Portugal - Social Movements, Public Policies and Emerging Technologies. He is the vice-coordinator of the Risk Observatory (OSIRIS),a member of the coordination team of the Annual Conferences Cycle "Young Social Scientists", of the editorial staff of Revista Crítica de Ciências Sociais and of CES' Ethics Commission. His current research interests include Biopolitics, the Anthropocene, Mindfulness, post-humanist theory and affect. His work has been published in journals such as Public Understanding of Science, Subjectivity, Nanoethics, Minerva, Social Movement Studies and The Sociological Review.
