Bio note 

Leda Paulani holds a degree in Economics from FEA-USP and in Social Communication from ECA-USP. Holds a PhD in Economic Theory from the Economic Research Institute of the University of São Paulo - IPE/USP (1992). Lecturer at the Department of Economics at FEA-USP (2004). Professor at the Department of Economics and at the Postgraduate School of Economics of the University of São Paulo - FEA/USP since 1988 and full professor at the same unit since 2007. CNPq researcher (Research Productivity Grant Holder level 1D) and regularly publishes in national and international journals in the area of economics and other areas of the Human Sciences. Leda Paulani works mainly with Political Economy and Marxism, Economic Methodology, History of Economic Ideas, Brazilian Economy and Social Accounting. From 2004 to 2008 she was the president of the Brazilian Society of Political Economy (SEP). From January 2001 to April 2003 she was chief advisor of the office of the Secretary of Finance of the Municipality of São Paulo. From January 2013 to March 2015 she was municipal secretary of planning, budget and management of the Municipality of São Paulo.
