About the winner

Alexandre Almeida Marcussi - Historian, develops research in the area of cultural history of slavery and Africa, with an MA (2010) and a PhD (2015) in Social History at the University of São Paulo. Professor of African History at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) since 2016, has also conducted research in the area of cultural heritage. Some of the relevant themes in his academic production include Afro-Brazilian Religions, History of Afro-American Culture, History of Angola, History of Colonial Brazil, Historiography and Anthropology of African-American Cultures.
