Exhibition
An exhibition to mark the launch of the publication ‘Bairro do Pego Longo’
September 1 to 17, 2026
North | South Library Foyer, CES | Alta
During the research process that led to the publication of the volume on the Bairro do Pego Longo project, we came across a rich treasure trove of design visuals produced over a period of around 40 years.
The exhibition, organised across nine A1-sized panels, presents a selection of graphic material including photographs taken during the construction phase, architectural plans and drawings, and some graphic elements from the early stages of the work, depicting the initial approaches to the complex topography of the disused quarry where the neighbourhood is situated, or the detailed surveys of the blocks into which the neighbourhood is organised, recording in the sparse organic structures the uses, habits, occupations – in n short, life itself.
These elements are accompanied by extracts from the publication, documenting their importance within the context of the project and clarifying their significance.
The exhibition forms part of a programme of events to mark the launch of the publication “Bairro do Pego Longo”, on 17 September 2026 at 17:00.
