About
In order to mark and celebrate the International Day of African Women we held this seminar to highlight how they are actively changing their world with the science they do and the knowledges they produce.

The seminar is composed of three moments. In the first moment, a short presentation will be made by the moderator (Teresa Cunha) on the general theme of the seminar, during which the importance for the social sciences of these knowledges forged from Africa and from the lives and bodies of African women will be highlighted.

In a second moment, Rutte Cardoso Andrade and Florita Telo will present their works. The first by Rutte, on Cape Verdean women's resistance from the perspective of the epistemology of African Womanism. The second, by Florita Telo, on Science and gender studies, women and feminisms: the African contribution

We will end with an open debate.

Rutte Cardoso Andrade, caboverdiana e Doutora em Ciências Sociais, Professora da Universidade da Integração Internacional da Lusofonia Afro-Brasileira (UNILAB). Colaboradora do Curso de Pós-Graduação em Pedagogia na Universidade de Santiago, em Cabo Verde. Idealizadora e Coordenadora do Projecto Social Koperativ Per Ankh – Cabo Verde

Florita Telo, angolana e Doutora em Estudos Interdisciplinares sobre Género, Mulheres e Feminismo. Mestre em Ciências Jurídicas. Licenciada em Direito. Consultora em Inclusão e Diversidade de Género. Pesquisadora do Centro de Direitos Humanos e Cidadania da Universidade Católica de Angola e do Centro de Pesquisa do Instituto Superior Jean Piaget de Benguela. Integrante do Grupo de Estudos Feministas em Política e Educação/UFBA. Membro-fundadora do Observatório de Políticas Públicas na perspectiva de Género e do colectivo Ondjango Feminista.
