Abstract

Under the CES Summer School Racism, Eurocentrism and Political Struggles, the Theatre of the Oppressed Group - Lisbon (GTO LX) and the Laboratório AMI-AFRO will  performe a bit from the Teatro Fórum Fel e Mel no Papel, created by different forum theatre companies of the greater metropolitan Lisbon.

Synopsis: This performance results from the  Forum Theatre text Fel and Mel no Papel and portrays episodes of the life of Liberato. Liberato is a young man born in a country that speaks of freedom, equality and fraternity, and he believes in the ideals of the declaration of universal rights. In this performance, we invite you, together with Liberato, to look at the values of human rights. In the long run, what is being equal? In the long run, if we are not all equal, what is the value of Role? What is the space for difference?

Creation and Performance: Ami - Afro - Forum Theatre Group 

Production - GTO LX | Theatre of the Oppressed Group - Lisbon (GTO-LX) is a non-profit non-governmental organisation committed to encouraging the active and conscious participation of citizens in the building of society. Since 2004, it has been working directly with disadvantaged and discriminated populations, forming several community groups of forum theatre, which play out real life situations experienced by them and are presented in the community. Among these groups is the Ami-Afro Laboratório, which has developed several performances focused on issues related to migration, racism, national identity and citizenship.
