CES@EC
Reforço da capacidade competitiva do Centro de Estudos Sociais e da Região Centro no Horizonte Europa
The Centre for Social Studies at the University of Coimbra intends to plan, organize and submit a minimum of 10 applications to competitive calls from the European Commission, 9 of which as the coordinating entity, between 2026 and 2027, to develop lines of research for which it is internationally recognized, continuing to assert its research agenda on an international scale and thus increasing its impact.
The applications currently being prepared reflect the priority research areas of CES, in line with the European Commission's R&D priorities. Contributing to the RIS3-Centro program, this project aims to strengthen CES's position in the Central Region, the country, and the European Union, in the development of scientific, cultural, social, and political innovations. These areas are:
- Cultural tourism; tourism in non-urban areas; competitiveness of CCIs.
- NBS: Nature-Based Solutions; green transition; climate risks and adaptation.
- Democratic participation; democratic resilience; processes of populism and autocratization; rule of law; judicial and legal studies.
- Gender studies; sexualities; human rights; masculinities.
- Violence; (anti)racism; public policies.
Based in the Central Region of Portugal, CES will continue to contribute to the effort of the region's scientific ecosystem in its international affirmation in the area of R&D.
10 international bids to European R&D funding: Horizon Europe, CERV, Erasmus+.
