About

Since 2008, Brazil has been implementing a national network of Vocational and Technological Education (VTE). Its main equipment are the Federal Institutes of Science and Technology Education, distributed throughout all units of the federation, currently counting more than 600 campuses. Such institutions seek to broaden the conceptions of technical and technological training, connecting it with the economic, social and cultural development practices of their territories. In this workshop, the main objective is to reflect on the potential of Federal Institutes as spaces for promoting solidarity economy. Some experiences of Solidarity Economy Technological Incubators implemented in the Institutes will be discussed and we will seek to think collectively about the specificities of ECOSOL in VTE, its main challenges, as well as guidelines for its strengthening within this Brazilian policy of education for work, science and technology.
